Who is it for?

A family office caters for families with a long-term vision, who want their family assets and values to endure from generation to generation. These could be families with diversified private fortunes, families who are or have been owners of a business, families with a complex family situation or who have a very international dimension.

When and why would I need a Family Office?

Families often underestimate how difficult it is to keep track of a diversified fortune and some of them have the feeling of having lost the big picture of their family situation.

How does it work?

Many families are looking for a comprehensive family office service, dealing with all aspects of their wealth (including managing risks). We often act as a sounding board, a problem solver, an impartial guide and a source of reliable dispassionate advice.
At the first stage we will take the time to get to know you and your family. This is necessary to identify an overall structure you are comfortable with for the management of your wealth.

How long does it take?

Each family is different and it depends on the available time each member has for this commitment and the complexity of their personal and financial situation. The process, however, is consistent: diagnose - implementation - monitoring.

Our Family Office team.

We are a team drawn from the leading ranks of an array of professional disciplines, including law, investment management and corporate finance added with a mix of nationalities, cultures and languages and a long experience in working with wealthy families. We devote significant resources to training, both formal and informal. We have an extensive network of contacts to keep us informed of political, legal, fiscal and financial changes.

Where are you located?

We are located in London and Geneva with representative offices in Moscow and Almaty, what helps us to serve clients internationally. In an era of globalization and rapid communications, we believe that the high value-added services (asset protection, investment and custody) can be provided from any major financial centre. For certain services, such as convenience services, the issue of proximity is important and often our families have small personal offices in their home cities that look after these aspects.

What about my existing advisers?

We very much appreciate working with your existing advisers who already understand your family dynamics and have earned your trust and respect. However, we believe in separating business and personal assets, because each requires different and specific skills. Wealth management is a complex and rapidly changing environment. Models which worked well in the past may not suffice for the future if families really want to preserve the value of their fortunes.

What do you mean by objectivity?

We act as consultants to families who are seeking solutions to complex problems. We are selling advice, not products, which make us an objective partner.

What do you mean by open architecture?

Our model of the Family Office has the commitment of the partners to operate on an objective, open architecture basis. Our range of services is proof of this. We have free access to the best products in the marketplace, irrespective of the provider.

What do you mean by best-in-class?

Best-in-class is both a qualitative and quantitative concept. We have undertaken significant work on defining a process to identify best-in-class providers and to build a network.

How do you differentiate yourself?

As stated above, our true added value lies in the diagnosis of our clients' needs and the matching of those needs with the best-in-class service providers.

What is your added value?

Our true added value lies in the diagnosis of our clients' needs. We follow a unique family strategy diagnosis process allowing us to match those needs with the best-in-class service providers.
